This is a case of a 50-year-old female who was diagnosed with right invasive breast cancer. She underwent a bilateral mastectomy and right sentinel lymph node biopsy by Dr. Steven Scalia. We used a hidden scar technique for each side along the inframammary fold allowing for a bilateral skin and nipple sparing approach. In the same sitting tissue expanders with Allodermā¢ were placed in the patient and then a few months later she had her second stage reconstruction.
In the second stage, the tissue expanders were removed through the same hidden scar and replaced with bilateral 520 cc smooth round highly cohesive silicone gel breast implants, style SCF by NatrelleĀ®. The patient was very pleased with the result and if you compare the before and after photos, the patient looks as if she has undergone a breast augmentation due to the hidden scar, skin and nipple sparing approach along with the highly cohesive silicone gel breast implants.
